Care for one another's physical, mental, and spiritual needs is central to who we are as a church. We seek to foster mutual pastoral care among all our church members.
Pastoral care is overseen by our pastoral care team of clergy and lay people. Visitors are available to visit or talk with anyone living in our benefice, whether they attend church or not. We are always glad to hear about anyone who would like to be visited, or who would like to go on our prayer list and be prayed for in church. We can also contact hospital chaplains to let them know about someone admitted to hospital-- please let us know if we can be of assistance in this way.
Sacraments for Wholeness and Healing
Communion at Home
If you cannot get to church through sickness, we are very glad to be able to bring you Holy Communion at home. This is available for those who are unwell for a short time, as well as those who would like communion over a longer period of time.
Confession
Confession, or the Sacrament of Reconciliation, is available on request. It is particularly recommended during Lent, as part of every Christian's preparations for Easter.
Anointing of the Sick (Unction)
In cases of serious sickness, a priest can anoint a sick person with holy oil. This sacrament is available on request
Lay Ministry Team
Christian ministry is not just the responsibility of priests, but of the whole people of God. In our benefice, a Local Ministry Team (LMT) supports the pastoral work of the priests in two significant areas of parish life: sick visiting and the preparation of families for the Baptism of their children.
