The Eucharist
Human beings are made for relationship with God, and an essential part of this relationship is worship. For Christians, the central act of worship is the Eucharist, also called Mass or Holy Communion. In the Eucharist, we reach out toward God in word, song, and gesture, and he meets us in bread and wine

Christians have many ways of trying to understand the Eucharist. In the Church of England liturgy, we pray that the bread and wine "may become for us the Body and Blood of Christ". So when we receive Communion, we are receiving the Body and Blood of Christ.
All baptized Christians who usually receive communion in their own church are welcome to receive communion in the Church in Wales. In our churches children may be admitted to communion before confirmation. For adults and older children, the usual route to receiving communion is by confirmation.

Lord Jesus Christ,
we thank you that in this wonderful sacrament
you have given us the memorial of your passion:
grant us so to reverence the sacred mysteries of your body and blood
that we may know within ourselves
and show forth in our lives
the fruits of your redemption;
for you are alive and reign, now and for ever.
Amen.
(Collect for Corpus Christi)
