Miss Talbot, reputed to be the richest woman in Britain, guaranteed to bear the major costs involved in building St Agnes Church, providing the members paid for the chancel, lady chapel, lighting and the organ chamber. In addition to presenting the site of the church to the members, she committed herself to defraying the cost of the nave, altar, furnishings and gas fittings, the lych gate, boundary walls and architects fees the total amount paid out by her was £6035.
